Where to Stay in Bali
The single most important decision for a Bali trip isn't which hotel — it's which area. Get that right and almost any well-rated place there will suit you. Bali's regions are genuinely different, and traffic is slower than the map suggests, so choosing well saves you hours. Here's how to pick.

How to choose — and why to split your stay
A common mistake is booking one hotel for the whole trip. Most people are happier splitting their nights — for example a few in Ubud for the jungle, then a few on the coast. Two or three bases beat five, and you get two completely different sides of Bali in one trip. For sample splits, see how many days you need in Bali.
Once you've chosen your area(s), decide on the kind of stay: a resortfor pools and a kids' club, a private villa for space and seclusion, or a hotel as a comfortable base for exploring.
