Nusa Dua
Grand Hyatt Bali
A luxury beachfront hotel with a spa, on its own stretch of sand near Nusa Dua Beach.
8.8/10 Excellent — from 1,006 guest reviews, read 2026-10-09.

Short answer
This is the Nusa Dua formula done at full scale: a self-contained five-star beachfront resort where the beach is calm, the pools are many and nothing requires you to leave. That is exactly the appeal for a family or a first trip to Bali, and exactly the problem if you came to see the island. Nusa Dua is a gated resort enclave — it is manicured, safe and quiet, and it is not where you find everyday Bali.

What you actually get
A private beach, not a shared one
The resort sits on its own white-sand beach with volleyball and towels provided, and Nusa Dua Beach itself is about a 15-minute walk away. Scuba diving, surfing and parasailing all run from the surrounding coast.
Five outdoor pools
Five separate outdoor pools rather than one central pool, which is the single thing that most changes how a big resort feels when it is busy — there is somewhere to go when one is full. Guests single out the pools and the staff in reviews.
A full spa and health club
The spa does hot stone massages, facials and body scrubs, alongside a health club, a fitness centre and yoga classes. There is also a poolside bar for the gap between the two.
Indonesian dining on site
Pasar Senggol serves Indonesian food and opens for dinner, with garden views and a bar alongside. Breakfast is made to order rather than purely buffet.
It suits
- Families who want calm swimming water and more than one pool
- First-time visitors who want a soft landing 20–30 minutes from the airport
- Travellers who want resort facilities over a walkable neighbourhood
- Anyone combining a holiday with meetings — there is a business centre on site
Who it's not for
- Travellers who want to walk out to local warungs and bars — Nusa Dua is not walkable in that sense
- Anyone chasing nightlife, which is close to nonexistent here
- Surfers, who should be in Canggu or on the Bukit instead
- Budget trips — this sits at the top of Bali's price range
Common questions about Grand Hyatt Bali
Is Grand Hyatt Bali on the beach?
Yes. Grand Hyatt Bali is a beachfront resort in Nusa Dua with its own private white-sand beach, where beach volleyball and towels are provided. Nusa Dua Beach is roughly a 15-minute walk away.
How many pools does Grand Hyatt Bali have?
Five outdoor pools. That matters at a resort this size, because it spreads guests out — there is usually somewhere quieter to swim even when the resort is full.
Is Grand Hyatt Bali good for families?
It suits families well. Nusa Dua has the calmest swimming water in Bali, the resort has five pools and a private beach, and the airport is only 20–30 minutes away, which matters with tired children. The trade-off is that there is little to walk to outside the resort.
How far is Grand Hyatt Bali from the airport?
Nusa Dua is about 20 to 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport in normal traffic, the shortest airport transfer of any major Bali resort area. Allow longer at peak times.
Should I stay in Nusa Dua or somewhere else in Bali?
Choose Nusa Dua for calm beaches, big resorts and an easy first trip. Choose Seminyak for dining and walkable streets, Canggu for surf and a younger scene, or Ubud for jungle and culture. Many travellers split their stay between Nusa Dua and one inland area.
