Jimbaran
AYANA Resort Bali
The flagship of a 90-hectare clifftop estate above Jimbaran Bay, with 14 pools, 26 restaurants across the estate and the Rock Bar.
9.0/10 Superb — from 950 guest reviews, read 2026-10-09.

Short answer
The most searched resort name in Bali, and the scale is the reason: 90 hectares, four hotels, 14 pools, 26 restaurants and a cliff bar famous enough to be its own destination. It rates 9.0 from 950 guests. Two things to be clear about before booking. You are choosing between four different hotels that share a name, so check which one your rate is for — RIMBA, for instance, is a 15-minute drive from the beach. And the estate is cashless across every property since June 2025, so bring cards rather than rupiah.

What you actually get
An estate, not a hotel
AYANA Bali is 90 hectares on the cliffs above Jimbaran Bay, holding four separate hotels: AYANA Resort Bali (the flagship, and this page), AYANA Villas Bali, AYANA Segara Bali and RIMBA by AYANA Bali. Between them the estate has 14 swimming pools and 26 restaurants. Which of the four you book changes the stay considerably.
The Rock Bar
Set into the cliff face above the Indian Ocean, and the single most recognised thing on the property — it is on most Bali itineraries whether or not people stay here. Expect it to be busy at sunset.
Clifftop, with a secluded beach
Ocean-view and garden-view rooms and suites sit on the cliffs rather than on the sand, with a secluded beach below and the estate's own pools between. Beachfront access is via the estate rather than off your terrace.
A seawater spa and a 12 km airport run
The spa includes a Thalassotherapy pool using mineral-rich fresh seawater. The airport is about 12 km away, among the shorter transfers for a resort of this class.
It suits
- Couples and special occasions wanting scale and a landmark setting
- Anyone who wants genuine dining choice without leaving the property
- Travellers who like a clifftop outlook more than walking onto sand
- Shorter transfers — 12 km from the airport is good for this tier
Who it's not for
- Anyone expecting to step from their room onto the beach — this is a clifftop estate
- Travellers who want quiet and privacy; the Rock Bar draws non-guests at sunset
- Anyone carrying cash — the whole estate has been cashless since June 2025
- Budget trips, and anyone who wants a walkable neighbourhood outside the gate

Common questions about AYANA Resort Bali
What is the difference between AYANA Resort, RIMBA and AYANA Segara?
They are separate hotels within one 90-hectare estate above Jimbaran Bay, alongside AYANA Villas Bali. AYANA Resort Bali is the flagship and sits on the cliffs; RIMBA by AYANA Bali is set back from the coast, about a 15-minute drive from Jimbaran Beach. Guests generally share estate facilities, but the room, the price and the walk to the water differ, so check which hotel your booking is for.
Is AYANA Resort Bali on the beach?
It is a clifftop resort above Jimbaran Bay with a secluded beach below, rather than a property you step onto the sand from. The estate has 14 swimming pools, which is how most guests actually spend the day.
Do you have to stay at AYANA to visit the Rock Bar?
The Rock Bar is AYANA's cliffside bar above the Indian Ocean and is known well beyond the resort, so it is busy at sunset. Access arrangements and any queue or minimum spend change over time — check directly with the resort rather than relying on an older account.
Can you pay cash at AYANA Bali?
No. Since June 2025 the whole AYANA Bali estate operates cashless across accommodation, dining, spa and other services. Payment is by credit or debit card or QR payment only.
How far is AYANA Resort Bali from the airport?
About 12 kilometres from Ngurah Rai International Airport, and the resort offers an airport shuttle. That is a relatively short transfer for a resort of this class.
